Title-less

No Title

Charisma without depth
Is dangerous.
Data without imagery
Is dull.

Fact and fantasy, intertwined,
Tickle my fancy, shape my mind.

Another With No Title

Kindred souls in parallel planes
Travel together for a period in time.
When they leave to go their separate ways
Each is richer for the experience.

charisma

(type your blog post here, and put a title in the Subject line above)

Charisma without depth is dangerous.
Data without imagery is dull.

Fact and Fantasy, intertwined,
Tickle my fancy, shape my mind.

Who shaped my mind when I was one and two and three and four?
Who tickled my fancy, then?

And what does that have to do with now?

Self Portrait

I'm a dilettante, a ruminant, an omnivore.
Is there more?
Well, yes.

I was born to worry, I do it very well.
I worry and I scurry.
Is there more to tell?

Well, yes.

I'm Brooklyn born,
Berkeley bred.

And now, I live in Oakland.

Johann Sebastian Bach

Bach's eldest son, the one with a great deal of musical talent, is sometimes described as a wastral. Was it the untimely death of his mother that led him to waste his talents? Less than a year after his mother's death, his father remarried, this time to a much younger woman. Did those events have an effect on how the young man experienced love and devotion? Did those events affect the ways in which his neurotransmitters functioned? Is it important to ferret out the reasons some people enjoy their talents while others fritter away time and money?

a glial cell is a housekeeping cell.

If normal is the null set*, then everyone is a sexual deviant.

She's wealthy, demented, talented, and happy.
Her daughter committed suicide, her husband died of an autoimmune disease, and then her sons veered toward fanaticism.
But she is wealthy, happy, talented and demented.

Would you like to be wealthy, talented, and happy? Let's look at your glitches. Or would you rather look at mine?

Would you rather be a long-suffering narcisist or ethical and respectful of the feelings of others?

* A null set has no members.

Coping

We all have ways of coping with our lives, particularly with stress -- but some ways are healthier than others. Headaches, indigestion and insomnia are common ailments that frequently correspond to tension, discomfort, or restlessness about relationships, home, or work.

Other coping mechanisms include taking space by going for a walk, for example.

Science and Buddhism

The Dalai Lama said that when there is no conflict, he follows Buddhism, but if there is a conflict between science and Buddhism, he goes with science.
